Introducing new features available with the Cybectec SMP
Gateway family
Cooper Power Systems, a division of Cooper Industries, announces new
features available with the Cybectec SMP Gateway family of products —
increasing both substation integration and automation processes:
- All Cybectec Gateway family members (SMP 4, SMP 16/CP, SMP 16/SG) now
support serial radio communications.
- A new commissioning tool provides SMP Gateway users with enhanced
operations control.
- The SMP 16/CP and 16/SG Gateways have also added the Network Interface
Card Teaming to its applications — to allow for increased device
monitoring reliability.
The SMP Gateway also offers many updated product features:
- The configuration tool provides for an even more user-friendly and
intuitive annunciator than before.
- The software portion of the Gateway (SMP Tool) is now compatible with
the Windows® Vista™ operating system.
- Software enhancements also allow for increased efficiency over slow
networks.
These additional protocols complement the already robust list of over 50
supported protocols:
- Beckwith (Beco) Master
- OPC Master
- SES-92 Slave
- SDI-12 Master
The XML file support reduces the engineering efforts — towards easier
compliance with IEC 61850 standards.
The Cybectec SMP 16 gateway family is ideal for
substation automation projects. Its multiple functionalities simplify
substation integration and automation while providing clients with increased
vendor independence.
